A native of Cairo, Egypt, Chef/Owner of Bravo! Nader in Huntington,NY, Nader Gebrin has had a passion for food since he was a child.After schooling in Cairo for Hotel and Restaurant Management, he had the privilege of learning his craft at the prestigious Culinary Academy in Lucerne, Switzerland.
After graduating with honors, he held several positions at the Cairo Marriott until he decided he wanted fulfill his real dream and come to America.
With virtually no money he moved to New York where he honed his culinary skills at several high-profile restaurants in Manhattan including the Palm Court.
Soon after, he had an opportunity to work at the long time popular Huntington restaurant Orlando’s which solidified him in the community. Falling in love with the area, he decided to plant his family roots in Huntington where he still lives today.
In 1996 he took another huge risk and opened Bravo! Nader. Word quickly got out about the restaurant’s great food and unique, intimate setting and a table at Bravo! Nader’s soon became one of the most sought after on Long Island.
Since it’s opening, Bravo! Nader has consistently received accolades from the local and national press one of Long Island’s top restaurants. Nader’s goal is to make every meal he serves feel like an intimate Sunday dinner with family.
His affection for cooking is based on the simple principle of ultra-fresh ingredients prepared in a delicious health conscious manner. An avid fisherman, the fresh catch of the day served at his restaurant, is often caught by Nader himself. He has fished all over world and is the designated celebrity chef for Fisheman Magazine where he regularly does live cooking videos online demonstrating different ways to prepare fresh fish in a delicious manner.
Besides cooking, Nader has a passion for teaching others how to cook. He has received notoriety for the popular cooking classes he has held at his restaurant, and privately at customer’s homes. For over a decade he has taught others his culinary secrets and he urges all who have a passion for food to experience his class. It’s an experience you will not soon forget.
